Job Title: Junior User Support - System Administrator

Job Overview

MarketDental is looking for motivated Full-Time Junior User Support - System Administrator (located in the Edmonton area). The successful candidate will be responsible and assist in various IT and technical support operations. The candidate should have a SOLID understanding of Internet technologies and ONLINE marketing.

Main Responsibilities

Provide user-level IT and technical support to clients;
First level of support for user tickets;
Support for end-user web applications;
Monitoring the infrastructure and reacting to alerts;
Checking backup jobs and managing backups;
Maintain and build positive relationships with existing clients;
Enter & maintain projects and sales information (using Jira and Hubspot);
Determine the most appropriate sales approach with current and potential clients;
Prepare proposals and demos that effectively demonstrate the benefits of our services;
Maximize revenues with existing clients through maintaining regular contact and updating them on new initiatives.

Required knowledge and experience

Solid understanding of customer support processes and best practices (ticketing, call logging, basic action workflow, etc.);
Solid understanding of Internet technologies and services including basic web development (HTML & CSS);
Scripting languages, such as bash, PHP;
Solid understanding of online marketing (SEO, SMO, SEM);
Experience with Atlassian software - Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket;
Experience Linux Servers and basic Services (DHCP, DNS, FTP, SFTP, SSH, NFS, SAMBA);
Intermediate/Advanced Network Experience: Firewall, VLAN, Port security;
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
Self–starter, independent and proactive;
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements;

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience (base salary + commissions & dental benefits)

Note: This is a full-time, in-office position. Remote work is not available at this time.
