How to Redirect or Forward your Google App Email to Another Email Address Automatically
Follow these steps to forward incoming messages to another email address automatically:
- Login to you account at http://domain.com/mail
- Click the gear on the top right corner
- Select Mail settings from the menu that comes up
- Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- Click Add a forwarding address
- Enter the address to which you want to forward future emails under: Please enter a new forwarding email address:
- Click Next
- Now click OK
- Open an email from "Google Team " with the subject "Google Forwarding Confirmation" at the address to which you are forwarding
- Highlight and copy the 8-part code under Confirmation code:
- Switch back to Google App Email in your browser
- Paste the 8-part confirmation code under confirmation code
- Click Verify
If you have already set up the address in Gmail for forwarding in the past, you can skip the previous steps.
- Make sure Forward a copy of incoming mail to __ and __ is selected under Forwarding:
- Pick the desired email address
- Choose how Gmail should handle forwarded messages. Select
- keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox to have Gmail leave the message in your Gmail Inbox as new and unread;
- archive Gmail's copy (probably the most useful setting) to make Gmail mark forwarded messages as read and remove them from the Inbox, but keep them in the archive for later search and retrieval;
- trash Gmail's copy to move message to the Trash after they have been forwarded. Trashed messages will be deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Click Save Changes
